I have been thoroughly spoiled by technology. It has turned me into a junkie, seriously. I was so out of sorts when my beloved iPhone 3's home button broke. I lost my connection to the local weather, happenings on Facebook, I even missed the junk mail in my in-box! There was nothing to keep me distracted while standing in line or waiting in the doctor's office.
I was suffering from SERIOUS withdrawal.
I decided I couldn't wait for the iPhone 5. I have 30 days to return this iPhone 4 in the unlikely event that the iPhone 5 comes out before then. Really, I am not a "I have to have the first version" of any type of electronics.
So, I signed another 2 year contract with AT&T through the Apple store today (which AT&T charged me an $18 "set-up" fee for doing absolutely nothing). I guess I need to be thankful that I still have an unlimited data plan — for the moment I have been "grandfathered" in — all new customers are being charged for data usage. (AT&T got my business because of the International calling plan on my iPhone.) Lately their service has been much better, and not nearly as many dropped calls. At least that's been my experience.
Mostly everything has worked well for the transfer (including my iTunes library), just need to figure out how to get the Apps loaded from iTunes into my new phone.
