Snow birding 101: When Weather Happens

imageWe’ve had some rainy, chilly and very windy days here in Marathon, and it’s no fun to be cooped up in the trailer for days when it rains or the winds are blowing at 10 to 20 mph, so here’s what we’ve done when the weather hasn’t cooperated with our outdoor plans:

Last weekend, we took a drive to Key West to Ben Franklin (one of only two craft stores in the Keys.  The other one is in Key Largo, called The Art Box, which I haven’t checked out yet), and stayed to walk on Duval Street and have lunch.

This week it rained for two straight days, Wednesday and Thursday, so the Captain and I splurged and drove up to Ft. Lauderdale and got a hotel room, which was SO nice.  I loved being able to move around in the shower (the shower in the trailer is small).

We went to check on the boat:

I went shopping at Sawgrass Mills, and we also caught the first viewing of the day of  Star Wars Episode VII:  The Force Awakens.  We watched it in 3-D.  I think it would have been cool to see it in 3-D in IMAX.  The movie did not disappoint, especially if you are a fan of the original trilogy.

Also during bad weather, I love to craft and work on editing photos.

It’s also a good time to catch up on movies.
