I have been in the role of Aunt Kathy at the beach this week. Along with Granny, we took my sister's children to the beach with us for the week since my sister couldn't get off from work. I have a new admiration and respect for mothers everywhere. It was a lot of hard work, but we also had a lot of fun.
We took the girls to the beach, Assateague Island, to the boardwalk, Amusement Park, to play putt putt, had crafting time and otherwise entertained them. We had a great time. Yesterday I took them to meet my sister and drop them off at Cracker Barrel which is right over the Chesapeake Bay Bridge. The girls were glad to see their Mom and my mom and I have a few days left here at the beach just to indulge in peace and quiet and to do whateve we want.
SInce my sister couldn't be here, I made the album above out of coasters from the Outback. I resized my photos to 4"x4", printed them out, cut them out and glued them onto the coaster. I punched a hole in the edge of each coaster with my Crop-a-dile, tied a ribbon through it, and it made such a nice little mini book. My sister was so happy to have a record of the kids' ativities while they were here.
Off to the beach to soak up the sun, sand and breeze.
