He had cancer — really bad. The end came on really suddenly, like from yesterday to today.
Nothing anyone could do.
At his "senior wellness check-up" in July, his blood work came back normal and except for a little arthritis, he was fine.
But I had noticed his breathing was a little more labored lately, and as with most big breeds of dogs, you only have 10 to 12 years, and these big guys fall hard and go quickly. My vet likened it to falling off a cliff.
I'm glad we had a couple of big snow storms last winter.
Zachary LOVED the cold weather and the snow.
He was just a big goof ball, and I'm going to miss him so much.
