An Easter Gathering and A Butterfly

I made these cupcakes for an Easter brunch I attended yesterday.  The cupcakes are featured in the book Hello Cupcake.  They were so much fun to make, and everyone raved over them.  I went to brunch at my friend, Nanette's house, and everyone brought food, and we sat around and talked and had a good time.

My friend, Nanette and her friend, Mike;

Nanette's daughter and her family after an impromptu concert performed by Nanette's son-in-law, and seven year old grandson.

When I got home, this beauty was waiting in the butterfly castle:

It's about a month early for these guys to be coming out, but I was so happy to see my butterfly had survived the winter.  The process of being in the chrysalis phase for 9 months through the winter and then being born into a beautiful winged creature will never cease to fascinate me.  I am growing dill, which the black swallowtail caterpillars love. Another round of watching the transformation of caterpillar to butterfly.

I have put out my hummingbird feeders, but so far I haven't seen any ruby throated hummingbirds.  They will be back before too much longer, and when they arrive, I'll be ready with all of my flashes set up to photograph them.
