It's official, the birds' lineage is a Tufted Titmouse. The Birdhouses 101 website claims that these birds don't typically use mounted birdhouses (like the one I have on my fence). I am so happy that they decided to nest there. I also LOVE that the parents both take care of the babies and mate for life. They may even do two breeding cycles, I'm not sure yet if we're far enough south for that.
