Competing Priorities

I took this photo on August 7th showing how a volunteer tomato plant just grew right up out of the compost pile.  I have not disturbed the compost pile.  Look at what I picked off of that tomato plant today:

All of these tomatoes.  There are more tomatoes on the vine, at least 7 more but they're not big enough to pick.  I would have never thought that tomatoes would thrive there — that part of the yard doesn't get much sun.

There's so much going on, and all I feel like doing is going into my studio to create.  I have a lot of great ideas rambling around in my head.  For now, notes about what I'd like to do is going to have to suffice.

I have so much stuff to do around the house, I'm teaching my class at the college this evening, and this little girl:

Kiki's not well, very thin and not using the litter box, a definite sign of illness.  Going to take her to the vet at 3:30 p.m.   I will have had her 10 years in January.  I don't know how old she was when I got her.  All I want is for her not to suffer, no matter what the outcome is.

So much to do, so little time …
