Yesterday and Today

Future home of a butterfly garden.

Yesterday was an absolutely beautiful, perfect day.  So unlike July — low 80s and low humidity.  I am thankful.  My friend, Carol and I went to Homestead Gardens this morning for the Crapemyrtle Festival.  I bought:  Purple Cone Flowers, Black Eyed Susans, Dahlias, Impatiens, Marigolds, Basil and Parsley.  I am going to put in a butterfly garden in the back yard.  It will be so much easier to maintain now that I have invested in a sprinkler system.  When the system is working, that is.  There is a problem right now, it's not getting any current.  It's being looked at, and hopefully will be working again soon.

Today — work, lunch with my boss, shopping at Sur La Table (where I bought a Mario Batali cast iron/enamel 6 quart pot, which was 1/3 the cost of Le Creuset and a HUGE Boos wooden cutting board), baking cookies, waiting for the sprinkler man.  Cloudy and overcast.  Low energy day, tired, going to take it easy tonight.  I can't wait to use my new kitchen stuff…
