Projects, Projects, Projects

I found this little dresser at a consignment shop on Saturday, and was thrilled that it fit perfectly in this space in my office/guest room.  Now, guests will have somewhere to unpack their clothes when they visit.  (Thanks, Mom, for the idea, and hope you come back to visit soon).  The only thing I don't like about the dresser is the color.  So, I think I'm going to refinish it in antique white and distress it, and change out the knobs and put a different knob on each drawer.  I'll purchase the knobs from Anthropologie.  They have such a cool retro selection of knobs and everything else for that matter.  There is another place in my craft room where a dresser like this would also fit perfectly (and provide storage space).

I also found this cool travel case for $10 at the same consignment shop.  I saw this post on Design*Sponge using a travel cases to create a vintage suitcase charging station, and have wanted to find a travel case and do the same thing.  I definitely don't have all of the tools required to make the charging station, but I will figure out something, or use the case for something else.  I am definitely seeing some sort of collage with fine papers for the outside.

Other projects:

  • Craft room clean-up is going agonizingly slow.  I have so much stuff to go through, and lots of stuff to give away.  I'm thinking I need to devote at least 30 minutes a day to diligently clean and organize stuff (without getting sidetracked!).
  • Camp Kathy invitations are done, and will be mailed out on Monday.  I am so excited for this year's event, and while I was at Anthropologie on Saturday, I found a Camp Design*Sponge summer newspaper 2012 ($5) with lots of ideas for Camp Kathy in it.  (Can't find a link to the newspaper at present, it just came out).  Now planning activities for the week. I seem to have more activities planned than there is actually time to fit everything in, so we'll see how it all plays out.
  • I am almost finished my first official art journal in the beautiful red Cachet sketchbook (7"w x 10" h) which I can't find online anywhere or in the stores.  :(

So, I am going to make my own sketchbook out of watercolor paper (which will handle layers of paint and whatever other goodness I choose to use).

  • I have lots and lots of wine corks (saved up for a friend's daughter's wedding at a winery) that weren't needed.  So, I found this cute project that I want to do for Christmas:

So there is a lot going on, and I'm sure that some of these projects are going to take longer than I thought or may even have to be shelved for awhile.  The number one priority right now is to get the craft room cleaned up.  Also going to slowly ease back into exercise next week with some much needed walking.
