Reflections On 2010

This is a photo of my outside Christmas lights, the camera wasn't in focus when it took the photo, and I think it looks pretty cool.

I signed up to participate in Reverb 10 (per a posting on Ali’s blog) which includes daily prompts during the month of December to reflect on what has happened during the year and ways to reflect and understand ourselves and manifest positive changes for the upcoming new year.  I have been going back and reflecting on some of the prompts.  A prompt from December 17, 2010 http://www.reverb10.com/the-prompts

December 17, 2010: Lesson Learned.  What was the best thing you learned about yourself this past year?  And how will you apply that lesson going forward?

The best lesson I learned about myself this year is that I am not afraid.  I am not afraid of change, of challenges, of failing, of putting myself out there, of rejection, of being alone, of being different, of saying no, of what others think of me, of what the future holds,.

I will apply this lesson going forward by putting myself out there even more, expanding my artistic horizons, getting my website up and running (finally, already!) and promoting my business, while also giving back to the community.

December 18, 2010:  Try.  What do you want to try next year?  Is there something you wanted to try in 2010?  What happened when you did/didn’t go for it?  (Author:  Kaileen Elise)

Next year I want to incorporate a daily exercise routine into my life. I know I will feel so much better if I exercise regularly.  I have felt so lethargic this year because I haven’t had a regular workout routine for awhile.  It makes a big difference in my energy level.

The prompt for yesterday was about healing and what has healed me this year?  I'm still reflecting upon that answer.

Even if you don't want to actively participate, it is interesting to go and read the daily postings to see the prompts, and who know what will get you to thinking about your life, and the positive changes you can make, one prompt at a time.

I have selected my word for 2011.  I will post it here on December 31st.
