Breakfast at Cracker Barrel this afternoon. SO GOOD.
Today was dreary and raining (for most of the day anyway), so I didn’t leave until 12:35 p.m.
First stop – Cracker Barrel in Stevensville, MD (right across the Bay Bridge) where breakfast is served ALL day. I’m not really much of a breakfast person, but the breakfast at Cracker Barrel is just SO GOOD (and has a million calories).
I stopped in Crisfield, MD on the way to Chincoteague.
This is a ferry that goes from Crisfield to Smith Island. People were on the dock waiting with all sorts of supplies to take to Smith Island:
The parking lot at the ferry was flooded:
There were also some really cool abandoned buildings on the road to Crisfield:
And here is one of me reflected in a cracked window:
Onto Chincoteague:
So in Chincoteague at the Waterside Motor Inn. Chincoteague Island is not on the ocean – the hotel is on the Chesapeake Bay side, and you have to drive to the beach on Assateague (which is the same Assateague that is near Ocean City, MD) which is about 10 minutes away. The rooms are decent and they serve a continental breakfast from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
I had dinner at Don’s Seafood, a shrimp basket with a small salad. It was okay. I would have loved to order a dinner, but the portion sizes are so big, I knew I couldn’t eat it all, and I didn’t want to waste the meal and spend all that money. Maybe one day on this trip, I’ll splurge on a nice dinner.
I realized when I was almost in Crisfield, I left my TRIPOD and my 200 to 500 mm lens at home :-(
I don’t know what I was thinking!
Clearly, I wasn’t thinking…
Plan for tomorrow: Get up early (by 7:00 a.m.) and out the door to do some early morning shooting before continuing south towards the Outer Banks…
