This fall has provided spectacular color right in my neighborhood. I am amazed by all of the different hues of golds, yellows, and reds adorning the tress right now. I love these fleeting passages of seasons, the beautiful flowering trees in the spring, and then the delightful turning of the leaves before and as they fall beckoning winter’s arrival.
This past weekend, I had a chance to visit one of those amazing farmer’s markets on the Eastern Shore, and look what I found:
An old fashioned handmade, right out of the fryer, sugar cinnamon donut. It tasted amazing. It was SO good it melted in my mouth and reminded me of times gone by, old country fall fairs, and all of the sweet goodness of homemade sweet treats. This same farmer’s market sold bags of apples with a handwritten recipe on the wall for homemade applesauce:
Love this recipe, and am going to try very soon.
Hope you all take the time to savor all of the beautiful colors of fall.
